Improving health and wellbeing through improving the environment

Hyde Park Source started in 1998, rooted in making the most of local spaces using local people to affect positive change together. Since then we have continued to do this in a range of ways through our four strands of work: Community Gardening, Outdoor Education, Design & Build, and Networks & Research.
We follow our 5 principles: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.
Working across Leeds with over 250 regular Volunteers, a staff team of 9 people and governed by a dedicated Volunteer Management Committee.
We are small, but we are efficient and we pride ourselves on listening and adapting to the needs and wants of local communities being flexible and changing our practice through responding to feedback. Internally we try to be clear about responsibilities within the organisation, sharing power and encouraging the whole team to discuss any decisions that impact them. We have taken time and continue to develop simple but robust systems for supporting our staff and enabling our organisation to function well. We hold each other to account and have strong values of honesty, transparency and fairness.
