Lord Deramore's School Fund
About Lord Deramore's School Fund
This year, we want to revolutionise playtimes and lunchtimes by working with OPAL - Outdoor Play and Learning. This will include creating storage and resourcing themed areas such as wheels (bikes, wheelchairs, wheeled dollies and scooters etc), a large sand pit, mud kitchen, water play etc.
We particularly want to enhance the provision for our pupils with special educational needs, those with more challenging behaviour and children who find a busy, active, noisy playground a challenge.
Our provision will enable children to have opportunities for more purposeful, engaging play in high-quality, themed areas. Subsequently, this will improve well-being, developing self-regulation, increase physical activity, aid social and emotional development, teach children how to manage risk, provide a range of environments that inspire creativity and imagination and support learning across the curriculum promoting independence and teamwork.
We (the staff and children) are very excited about this project.
