About St Mary's Community Centre

St Mary’s is many things to many people. It is an iconic Garde II * listed building in the heart of the city and comprises of a worshipping church community; a busy conference centre; and a community centre. St Mary’s has a long history of expressing faith as Social Action. At St Mary’s we welcome people from all faiths and none; we try to encourage and empower people in their own lives so that they leave feeling slightly better than when they first came.
St Mary’s Church is a significant stakeholder and partner with St Mary’s Community Centre. The building is owned by the Church with a Memorandum for the Community Centre to develop services and activities.
St Mary’s Community Centre main objective is the relief of poverty this is achieved through the delivery of various community-based programmes and activities. Volunteers are the life force at St Mary’s and help create and run our community support services.
St Mary’s Community Centre is a registered Charity (04317500) and Limited Company by Guarantee. It is governed by a Board of Trustees/Directors who are the legal body responsible for the organisation.
